About Us
The mission of Harmony Healthcare International, Inc. is to provide the long-term care industry with the tools to obtain accurate reimbursement and ultimately provide better care to its residents. Through seminars and consulting services, Harmony educates, trains, and advises its customers with a user-friendly, customer-first approach.
Kris Mastrangelo, President and CEO, has more than 14 years of experience in the long-term care industry. An Occupational Therapist degree from Tufts University followed by a Master's in Business Administration and Nursing Home Administrator's License affords Kris an in-depth perspective into the nursing home industry. Initially providing direct care as an occupational therapist, Kris became familiar with the Medicare reimbursement system. Her position evolved into the management of in-house rehabilitation programs to Vice President of Operations for a national consulting company to Vice President of Reimbursement. Her experience includes the development and presentation of training modules (clinical, financial, operational and reimbursement) for large healthcare corporations, implementation of in-house rehabilitation programs, management of Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting, change of ownership applications, budgeting, skilled nursing facility clinical and financial analysis along with vendor contracting.
Elisa Bovee MS OTR/L, Director of Education and Training has been working in the long term care industry for over 14 years practicing and providing consulting services related to therapy services and Medicare regulations and guidelines. Her familiarity with the Medicare system within a long term care environment began when she worked as a staff Occupational Therapist in a Skilled Nursing Facility for a large national corporation. She quickly advanced to become the Director of Rehabilitation for two facilities and then was promoted to a Regional Manager within the corporation. Elisa served as an Appeals Coordinator for three years within the Northeast region, working with facilities to address Medicare denials. In 2003, Elisa began working for Harmony Healthcare as a Regional consultant. As a consultant for Harmony Healthcare Elisa assisted clients to enhance quality of care through chart auditing, service delivery analysis and in-service education. Currently, Elisa holds the position of Director of Education and Training for Harmony Healthcare. This position entails research, analysis and design of training programs for Harmony Healthcare staff and clients. She is responsible for researching program content for development of education activities. Her experience has entailed education of nursing staff and management, therapy staff and management as well as administrators in the long term care setting. Regional Consultants:
Harmony Healthcare is comprised of highly trained and knowledgeable nurses, therapists and reimbursement specialists with enhanced insight in the healthcare industry. Our regional consultants are experts in performing chart audits in order to ensure accuracy, optimal reimbursement and clinically appropriate care.
Joyce Sadewicz PT Joyce graduated with a Batchelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College and Albany Medical School. She began her career as a Physical Therapist working with neurologically impaired children and adolescents and remained in this field for 15 years. Acute care was the next area of concentration for her. She gained invaluable experience working in a city hospital with an active inpatient and outpatient program as well as a regional burn center and trauma unit. This environment afforded Joyce hands on experience few Physical Therapists have the opportunity to experience. She managed the Physical and Occupational Therapy departments as well as the Work Tolerance Center, an outpatient work hardening program. Joyce managed 40 rehab personnel with a combined budget of $1.5 million in a 440 bed acute care setting with multiple outpatient sites. Joyce moved back to Massachusetts to assist in the care of a family member and assumed the role of the Rehabilitation Manager in a long term care facility. The advent of PPS helped spark her interest in reimbursement and management of patient care. When the position of Clinical Case Manager became available, Joyce jumped at the chance to integrate her many years of clinical experience and newly learned knowledge of the MDS and reimbursement in a PPS environment. Her mission was to provide the best clinical care possible for patients in a fiscally responsible manner. Joyce enjoys the environment of adult learning and loves the teaching aspect of clinical care. At Harmony Healthcare she has the opportunity to use all aspects of her years of clinical and management experience, her knowledge of the RAI process in the Medicare PPS setting as well as the Case Mix setting and her love of teaching and training.
Keri Sullivan MS SLP CCC Keri has more than 18 years of experience in the long-term care industry. Keri has AANAC RAC-CT certification, training in advanced dysphagia and treatment of non-traditional patients. Keri is a member of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators. She has her Bachelors of Science in communication disorders with specialized course work in cognition and dysphagia from the University of Massachusetts followed by a Master’s of Science in speech language pathology with specialized course work in counseling. Her long-term care experience includes multi-facility management, clinical reimbursement and mock survey consulting as well as corporate management. She has experience across many settings including sub-acute, SNF, long-term care, hospital and contract services. Her experience includes MDS, MMQ, Admissions and Rehabilitation services. Today, Keri is a Regional Consultant providing on-site auditing of the MDS, MMQ and associated records. This process directly enhances the facility’s reimbursement and all areas for system and program development. Her varied experience in all aspects of clinical reimbursement for the long-term care setting in multiple states gives her a unique perspective on coordinating multiple reimbursement systems in a SNF setting.
Colleen Gouldrick RN Colleen holds an RN degree and has extensive experience in MDS, PPS and Medicaid reimbursement. She has previously worked for a national consulting firm as a senior consultant. In this capacity Colleen provided education to hospital employed Clinical Documentation Specialists and providers regarding accurate physician documentation for enhanced DRG capture. Colleen’s career has also entailed education of physician, non-physician practitioners and coders with the goal of enhancing both clinical care and capturing accurate and optimal reimbursement. Colleen has strong clinical documentation audit skills and is able to effectively reach individuals and groups from all backgrounds, disciplines and professions. Colleen is currently a Regional Consultant for Harmony Healthcare providing on-site auditing of the MDS, MMQ and associated records. This process directly enhances the facility’s reimbursement and all areas for system and program development.
Ann Smith Williams Ann is a Registered Occupational Therapist with over 17 years of experience with adult geriatric patient populations in settings which include Sub acute in-patient rehabilitation, long term care, home-health, out-patient rehabilitation, work hardening and industrial rehabilitation programs. Ann obtained her diploma in Occupational Therapy as well as a Registered nurse degree in the UK. She has worked in the New England states for the past 10 years and acquired a strong knowledge of MDS/PPS assessment and Medicare documentation. Ann has managed multi-site sub-acute rehabilitation programs and has advanced skills in analyzing and meeting monthly operating budgets. Ann's thrusts include bringing a high degree of competence and care to all patients. Ann works as a Regional Consultant for Harmony Healthcare providing on-site auditing of the MDS, MMQ and associated records. This process directly enhances the facility’s reimbursement and all areas for system and program development.
Linda Byrne Linda is a Physical Therapist with over 12 years of experience providing direct care and management of rehabilitation programs. Linda obtained her physical therapy degree at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland and has been working in the Boston area for the past 10 years. Linda has been responsible for dual facility management. Linda has gained expertise in MDS tracking and scheduling. She has an outstanding knowledge base of PPS management, as well as Medicare Part B program facilitation and growth. Linda has experiences with survey preparation, budgeting for rehabilitation programs, as well as staff education and development. Linda has become a Regional Consultant for Harmony Healthcare providing on-site auditing of the MDS, MMQ and associated records. This process directly enhances the facility’s reimbursement and all areas for system and program development.
John Routhier John is a graduate of Tufts University in Medford, MA where he also captained the football team. John comes to Harmony with an impressive job history of receiving multiple awards and promotions to senior level sales and marketing management positions throughout his career. John has consistently become a leader amongst his peers through a focused work ethic and a drive to succeed. He prides himself on the ability to identify areas of need and facilitate the growth of revenue for his customers. Harmony is pleased to have John on our team to support our quest for customer satisfaction.
Cynthia Coelho RN Cindy is a Registered Nurse who has been in the healthcare field for over 25 years. She began by obtaining her Nursing credentials from Somerville Hospital School of Nursing and continued on to study nursing at Northeastern University and Salem State College. Her specialty areas include respiratory disorders, oncology and development of education and training programs for patients and their families. Cindy is very dedicated to her work and gained the professional respect of the many physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals who have had the honor to work with her. She has exceptional organization and management skills and has had extensive experience as a Charge Nurse, Supervisor and Healthcare Educator. Cindy currently works as a Regional Consultant for Harmony Healthcare providing on-site auditing of the MDS and associated records for PPS, Case Mix, and MMQ purposes. This process directly enhances the facility’s reimbursement and all areas for system and program development.
Diane Buckley BSN Diane comes to Harmony with over 20 years experience as a nurse in the Boston area. She is a graduate of the prestigious Salve Regina University in Newport, RI where she obtained a BS in Nursing. She began her career on the Intensive Care Unit of North Shore Medical Center. She has put in over 12 years of her career as an ICU nurse and is ACLS certified. Throughout her career, Diane has worked at four major hospitals, in a SNF setting, at an LTCH as well as in Home Care. Diane has Charge nurse experience, in addition to Nurse Manager, Case Manager, and Director of Admissions of an LTCH. Amongst her clinical practice Diane has been an integral team member responsible for financial and budget maintenance as well as cost effective quality patient care. Diane brings knowledge of State and Joint Commission Accreditation Regulation and Survey preparedness. Most recently Diane held the position of Manager of Quality and Risk Management. Her position entailed ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements as well as providing education and training to staff on the quality improvement process. Of note, Diane has received the Partners in Excellence award as well as Service Champion Award. Diane works as a Regional Consultant for Harmony Healthcare providing on-site auditing of the MDS and associated records for PPS, Case Mix, and MMQ purposes. This process directly enhances the facility’s reimbursement and all areas for system and program development.
