Enforcement Freeze on 8 F-Tags

The last two blog posts reviewed F-Tags and Deficiencies. 

Given the significant amount of changes in the regulatory landscape, CMS applied an 18-month enforcement freeze (no monetary payments but tags can still be cited for non-compliance). 

The purpose of this moratorium is to allow facilities time to gain an understanding of the expectations and for the surveyors to navigate concerns within the regulation.

Per the January 31, 2018 CASPER Data for last standard health surveys of active Skilled Nursing Facilities (excluding complaint, federal monitoring, and special focus surveys), the most frequently cited Severity Level is the D Level at 55.65% with E Levels coming in in second at 28.92%.

One of the easiest problems to solve, but one of the biggest problems existing in long term care is getting industry leaders to recognize the importance of qualified medical records staff.
