A comprehensive review of the Minimum Data Set from a Regulatory and PPS perspective. Appropriate for all nursing staff. A detailed explanation of the MDS from beginning to end for all levels of experience.

Objectives
I. The learner will be able to summarize the characteristics of the Minimum Data Set.
II. The learner will be able to list the MDS assessment forms.
III. The learner will be able to interpret Section G - ADL's of the MDS in relation to RUGs ADL score.

Goals
This program will enable healthcare providers to provide quality healthcare through an understanding of the Medicare Reimbursement system in a skilled nursing facility. Case Management techniques reviewed in relation to the RUG’s. This program discusses ARD management, ADL coding, diagnosis coding, RUGs III leveling, in addition to a variety of other topics. In the class the MDS will be reviewed in detail from start to finish. Areas that significantly impact Medicare Reimbursement and MDS Integrity are covered as well as illustrations of the areas of opportunity and their associated dollar impact.
